LoRa IoT Solutions
LoRa Technology offers a very compelling mix of long range, low power consumption and secure data transmission. Public and private networks using this technology can provide coverage that is greater in range compared to that of existing cellular networks. It is easy to plug into the existing infrastructure and offers a solution to serve battery-operated IoT applications.
LPWAN / LORAWAN
LPWAN / LORAWAN ｜ Wireless Communication Network for IoT (Internet of Things) Applications
LoRaWAN is a Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) specification intended for wireless battery operated things in a regional, national or global network. LoRaWAN defines the communication protocol and system architecture for the network while the LoRa physical layer enables the long-range communication link. The protocol and network architecture have the most influence in determining the battery lifetime of a node, the network capacity, the quality of service, the security, and the variety of applications served by the network.
- Long range
- Low power consumption
- High sensitivity
The LoRaWAN technology has been designed to respond to use cases where a sensor communicates small amounts of data a few times a day. It is well suited for smart meters, trackers, ‘comfort’ sensors etc. However, it is not designed to support applications that require high data rates such as audio or video. However, LoRaWAN can be used to control other wireless device capabilities; for instance to remotely instruct a camera to begin a data transmission, and stay in low power mode whenever opening a video stream is not required.
The examples below detail several key applications of LoRaWAN: Smart Lighting, Smart Parking, Waste Management, Elderly people assistance, Healthcare Application, Medical wearables, Facility Management, Factories and Industrial Applications, etc.
